IFF had the honour of participating in a mission to Vietnam 🇻🇳 from 20 to 22 October 2025, as part of the technical assistance programme led by SNCF International and funded by AFD – Agence Française de Développement.
🌐 This mission represents a key step in Franco-Vietnamese cooperation on the development of the high-speed rail network, in line with Vietnam’s 2021-2030 Rail Network Plan, which provides for the creation of nine new lines totalling 2,362 km, including the future North-South high-speed line.

🚧🚉During this visit, IFF experts had the opportunity to visit several railway sites, facilities and equipment, in accordance with the established programme. They were also warmly welcomed at the Vietnamese railway training academy. These visits and exchanges in the field enabled the Institute to gain a better understanding of the technical and human challenges associated with the development of the country’s railway network.

🚄 On October 22, a round table discussion on sharing international experiences in high-speed rail was held in Hanoi, attended by numerous officials, including the French Ambassador and the Director General of the Vietnam Railway Administration (VNRA).
Our experts presented Morocco’s experience with high-speed rail, the result of exemplary cooperation between the SNCF Group 🇫🇷 and the ONCF Group 🇲🇦.

✅ At the end of this mission, the IFF will design the first two training modules, which will be delivered in Vietnam starting in December 2025. Additional sessions will be developed and scheduled throughout 2026.
This project perfectly reflects IFF’s international mission: to train and support the development of railway skills around the world 🌍.
A big thank you to SNCF International, AFD, and our Vietnamese partners for their warm welcome and the richness of our exchanges.
